About the Artist
Hello there! My name is
Carmen Medlin (also known by my maiden name, Carmen Keys), and I am an artist living in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota with my husband and
super-cute kitty cats, Kiba and Opal.
It is my goal to promote a sense of imagination, innocence, hope, adventure and inspiration with my artwork. I love themes that hearken back to simpler times of childhood or times past, and reflect on God’s beauty. It is a colorful world of cute, often dressed-up animals, vintage children, fairytales, Bible verses and lovely botanicals.
It is my hope that these simple pleasures will encourage and give others a happy escape from a busy or hard day, and spark their sense of imagination and hope too!
My biggest inspirations are God’s creations in nature, and I enjoy spending time outdoors birdwatching, hiking and doing nature photography. I love spending time with my family and doing fun things like singing, playing various musical instruments, crochet, sewing, playing games and reading.
